It was a little surprise when Kourtney Kardashian announced her pregnancy with husband Travis Barker. The couple revealed the news of their first child together in a rock ‘n’ roll-themed gender reveal video, and fans later learned it would be a baby boy.
Kourtney shared the happy news in June with a sweet message to her hubby on Instagram, where she showed off her bump for the first time. The Lemme founder included a callback to Blink-182’s All the Small Things music video as she held up a sign that read, “Travis, I’m pregnant.”
The reality star said she and her husband weren’t even trying to get pregnant, but she added that it was a “big surprise” because they were so busy with their businesses. “It was nice to be able to take a moment and enjoy being pregnant,” she wrote. “I think many people don’t get to do that.”
On the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kourtney explained the pregnancy was a complete surprise, and she and her hubby conceived it naturally. She was hesitant initially, but she said it wasn’t as complicated as she thought because they didn’t feel pressured to have a baby.
She admitted the most challenging part of the experience was not being able to tell her older children she was expecting. “I was hoping to share the news with them at that point,” she said, but she had to wait until her son was born before telling them. She admitted it was “hard” for her to keep the secret for so long, but she says the moment is so special to her and her husband that it was worth it.
Kourtney also talked about how she and her family struggled with infertility before conceiving their son, Rocky. She told the show’s producers that she and her brother, Scott Disick, tried IVF for two years before deciding to stop. Then, she began dating Travis, who has three children with his ex, Shanna Moakler, and another daughter with former girlfriend Atiana De La Hoya.
Kourtney and her brood are adjusting to their new role as parents, and they even gave the world a sneak peek of how adorable they are with one another as they celebrated Halloween at Knott’s Scary Farm in California. The pair kissed and cuddled as they posed in front of spooky decorations. We can’t wait to see more of their love in their upcoming reality show on Hulu.
