Despite the recent heartache she suffered, country music star Kelsea Ballerini hasn’t let it dampen her life. She appears to have found love again and embraces every part of the journey. The singer-songwriter shared a photo to Instagram on Sunday, December 31, with a caption that spoke to the cyclical nature of life and its trials and triumphs.

“Three hundred and sixty-five days,” Ballerini, 30, began in her Instagram post. “Shouting on stages and them finally shouting back. Letting skin replace sequins. Sleepless nights rendering new dreams in a little new old house with defiantly pink walls.”

It’s been a few months since Ballerini and her husband, Morgan Evans, called it quits after five years of marriage, announcing their separation in August 2022 and finalizing the divorce in November. During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast earlier this month, Ballerini opened up about her healing journey following their split, noting she could “return to the beat of my drum.”

The singer recently dropped Rolling Up the Welcome Mat, a six-song EP partially about her experience with her ex. While she’s touched on the breakup in some of her songs, this album gives listeners an up-close-and-personal look at the entire experience, from the anger and resentment to the final acceptance of the situation.

On Thursday, the Knoxville native made a grand return to her hometown for a show at Thompson-Boling Arena. She reunited with a familiar face: country music icon Kenny Chesney during her set. The pair performed the ode to her home city, “Half of My Hometown.” Ballerini loves the town that raised her and is happy to share a song with the man she calls her husband.

It was also the same night that Ballerini got her first GRAMMY nod for her new EP. Her beau, Chase Stokes, congratulated the “Heartfirst” singer on social media with a very tender message.

Taking a page from her pal Kasey Musgraves’ book, the couple wore matching striped sweaters to the event. Ballerini opted for a striped button-down shirt, while Stokes wore a grey crewneck.

The duo also sported the same jeans—ripped light-wash denim for Ballerini and classic wash for Stokes. They topped off their looks with a black beret and brown leather jacket.

Stokes and Ballerini have been dating for about a year, sparking romance rumors shortly after Evans split from her. They have been spending time together this holiday season, including a romantic Christmas in Paris, and posting sweet pics to their respective Instagrams.
