Gordon Ramsay welcomed the birth of his sixth child, as he and his wife Tana welcomed a 7lb 10oz “whopper” to the family. The celebrity chef, 57, shared the news of his son’s arrival on Instagram, with fans delighted to share their well wishes.
Celebrity friends, including Marvel actor Jeremy Renner, TV chef James Martin, Top Gear star Paddy McGuinness, and Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden, rushed to congratulate Ramsay on the baby boy.
The chef, who celebrated his birthday on November 8, posted several pictures of the new addition to his family – including one that showed little Jesse smiling up at the camera and another showing him yawning.
Ramsay and Tana, 49, married in 1996 and are parents to Megan, Matilda “Tilly,” twins Jack and Holly, and Oscar. Ramsay wrote on his Instagram post: “What an amazing birthday present! Please welcome Jesse James Ramsay, 7lb 10oz whopper!!”
The couple remained tight-lipped about the pregnancy until Saturday night, as they shared photos of their newborn in hospital. The Kitchen Nightmares host’s eldest child, Megan, was seen holding her baby brother and older sibling Oscar. The chef also uploaded a picture of Tana cradling the newborn, with the caption: “Awwww the love!”
In an earlier post, Ramsay strongly suggested that his sixth child would be his last, saying: “3 boys, three girls… Done.” The celebrity chef also added a series of snaps featuring his family in hospital, with the pair enjoying a heartwarming moment with their baby son.
While many are happy for the couple, others have expressed concern over the influx of celebrity children. The news has led to discussions about parenting, wealth, and inheritance.
It isn’t the first time Ramsay has raised eyebrows with his parenting decisions. In 2016, the couple experienced a miscarriage and leaned on their friend, David and Victoria Beckham, for support.
Despite their best efforts, the couple struggled to conceive their first child and had to undergo in vitro fertilization. They finally had Megan in 1998 and then twins Holly and Jack in 2000. Despite their struggles, the couple have always been keen to have a large family.
The celebrity chef also has a history of making controversial statements on wealth and inheritance, which has sparked discussion online. He recently sparked controversy when he stated that he would not leave his fortune to his children, citing the importance of having a solid work ethic and financial responsibility.
