The once-fairytale romance between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is sadly no longer a happily ever after. The two divorced in 2016, with the Maleficent actress filing a scathing divorce petition that claimed her ex had physically abused her and their children. The FBI investigated Pitt over the alleged plane altercation. However, he never faced criminal charges. The former couple shared six children: Pax, Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, and 15-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
It was revealed in 2022 that Jolie had claimed her kids were ‘traumatized’ by the actions of her ex-husband, who was drinking at the time. The 59-year-old star grabbed one of the adopted children by the head and shook her, according to court documents. Jolie also claims Pitt choked one of the children and struck another when they tried to stand up for their mother.
During their divorce, Jolie demanded full custody of the kids, but an agreement was thrashed out in 2021 that allowed Pitt to spend 50 percent of the time with the children. However, the custody dispute has since reverted to Jolie.
In 2020, Pax Jolie-Pitt, who was 16 when he shared the scathing post on his private Instagram account, blasted his father for being a ‘world-class a-hole.’ The post was accompanied by a picture of Pitt accepting his 2020 Oscar for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. ‘You repeatedly prove yourself to be terrible and despicable,’ Pax wrote. ‘You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell.’
Despite Pax’s scathing message, it seems he remains close to his mother. The youngster graduated from high school this year and was recently seen with his mom while attending a sorority induction ceremony at Spelman College alongside his brothers. The family has also been enjoying a vacation in New York City.
However, despite Pax’s alleged social media rant, his estranged father has not publicly commented on it. Pax’s Instagram account is private, but Page Six reports that he shared the post with his dad on Father’s Day.
A source close to the star said: ‘Brad has great respect for each of their children, and they have a deep love for him. ‘The fact that Pax chose to keep this scathing post for his father, even three years ago, speaks volumes about their relationship.’ The spokesperson declined to comment on the matter further. The gossip site has contacted representatives for Pitt and Jolie, but both have yet to respond to our request for comment.
