The OnePlus Pad Go is officially set to launch on October 6. The Shenzhen-based tech firm had previously teased the device to launch in early 2024 alongside other new OnePlus products. However, Indian consumers will get their hands on the budget tablet much sooner than expected. As per a new announcement posted by the company on its official Twitter account, the tablet will be offered in a Twin Mint color option, showcasing a beautiful interplay of matte and glossy textures across the device’s back panel.
The upcoming tablet will also feature the same ergonomic design as the flagship OnePlus 5T, allowing users to hold it in portrait or landscape mode easily. The company notes that the design is intended to “extend a fast, smooth experience to a wider audience while maintaining a signature aesthetic.”
While most of the OnePlus Pad Go’s specifications remain under wraps, OnePlus COO and President Kinder Liu recently revealed some key details about the device in an interview with Digital Trends. According to Liu, the OnePlus Pad Go will offer a 2.4K resolution display on a 7:5 aspect ratio, down from the 2.8K 144Hz display found on the original OnePlus Pad. The device will also sport a TUV Rheinland certification for eye care, Dolby Atmos, and cross-device features like content syncing and screen mirroring.
As for the design, the OnePlus Pad Go will take inspiration from the original device with a central camera hump and rounded corners. It will also feature a Twin Mint color option, a vibrant hue the company describes as bringing a refreshing aesthetic to the tablet market. The OnePlus Pad Go is also expected to be lighter and smaller than the original OnePlus Pad, though the exact dimensions have yet to be confirmed.
OnePlus will take pre-orders for the OnePlus Pad Go on October 3 via the company’s website and Flipkart. The tablet will be available in Wi-Fi and cellular variants. It will be priced at Rs. 19,999 and Rs. 21,999, respectively, with both variants offering 8GB + 128GB storage options. The cellular variant will have a dual SIM slot supporting 4G LTE networks in India.
The OnePlus Pad Go is expected to go on sale in the country on October 6 through the company’s website and popular online retail platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart. OnePlus will also hold an event in Bengaluru on October 5, unveiling the OnePlus Pad Go and other new products.
OnePlus’ latest entry into the budget tablet segment will compete against the likes of the Google Pixel C and Microsoft Surface Go, all available for a similar price tag. Nevertheless, with the OnePlus Pad Go boasting superior processing power and RAM hardware, it could find itself as a viable alternative to some of these more premium offerings.
The OnePlus Pad Go is scheduled for sale in the United States and Europe later this year. However, the company has yet to confirm if or when it will expand the availability of the device in other markets.
