Actor Rebel Wilson recently opened up about how she tried Ozempic during her weight-loss journey. Ozempic, customarily used to treat type 2 diabetes, helps produce insulin and lowers the amount of sugar in the blood. Injections of the drug are delivered to the stomach, thigh, or arm. The drug has become a hot topic of conversation in Hollywood after being prescribed to several celebrities who are using it to lose weight. It is part of a new class of drugs known as GLP-1 RAs. The drug slows down food movement through the stomach and curbs appetite. It is also a popular choice for those with polycystic ovary syndrome who are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
The Pitch Perfect actress explained that she began taking the injections in 2020 when she was 77 pounds overweight, during her “year of health.” She said she decided to slim down after her fertility doctor shared that she would have better success with in vitro fertilization if she lost weight. She weighed around 165 pounds and reached her goal through high-intensity workouts, hiking, and a low-sugar diet.
Rebel revealed that she used Ozempic for a short time after she dropped the excess weight to help her maintain her weight. The 44-year-old actor has since stopped taking the injections. However, she does approve of people using the medication to shed a few pounds.

She also noted that she is happy to see the drug’s use becoming more mainstream. The actress has had a busy year with the release of her memoir, “Rebel Rising,” and her movie, “Nobody’s Fool,” which came out in April. She has also been involved in a feud with Sacha Baron Cohen over how she was treated on set.
In her interview with The Sunday Times, she also joked about how she’d love to see a full-page advertisement for the drug on the subway system in New York City. The star is well-known for her quips, and she made a few in the interview, including one that poked fun at all the fashion trends she thinks Joan Rosenberg would never approve of.
She said she feels like a different person after losing so much weight and wishes her mother was still alive to witness it all. She added that it is crucial to her to stay in shape because obesity increases an individual’s chances of developing certain types of cancer and can lead to poor treatment outcomes if diagnosed with the disease. She also believes her mother would be proud of her for staying strong and healthy.
