Chinese technology brand TECNO has bagged two IFA Global Product Technology Innovation Awards at IFA 2026. This showcases the Chinese technology company’s push into modular smartphones and high-performance compact computing beyond its established mass-market handset business.
The TECNO Modular Phone took home gold in the Ultra-slim magnetic modular technology category at the IFA Global Product Technology Innovation Awards. On the other hand, Tonino Lamborghini TECNO Taurus (Mega Mini G1 Pro) won gold in the miniaturized gaming PC category.
The awards were established in 2014 by Technology media firm IDG, IFA and the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK). This award was created to recognize products that set new benchmarks in consumer electronics.
The award couldn’t come at a better time considering TECNO is looking to expand its product portfolio beyond its better-known Camon, Spark, and POVA smartphone ranges. This recognition once again demonstrates sustained breakthroughs in product innovation and industry-leading craftsmanship in design excellence.

It is worth mentioning that TECNO Modular Phone is the world’s thinnest modular smartphone (at just 4.9mm). The phone is powered by proprietary Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology. Actually, it combines a precision magnetic array with pogo pin connectors.
