A week after stoking romance rumors with the Chiefs tight end, Taylor Swift was not in the stadium to cheer him on. The singer was absent for Kelce’s team’s away game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday night. The star reportedly declined to travel to the game as she prepares for the second leg of her “Eras Tour,” which resumes Nov. 9 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The 26-year-old alum of Berks County, Pennsylvania, began performing publicly as an eight-year-old, appearing in musical theater productions of “Grease,” “Annie” and “Bye Bye Birdie.” Her love for music led her to take piano lessons from the age of 10, and she eventually recorded her first single at 12. She was signed by Scott Borchetta, a former Dreamworks Records executive preparing to form his independent record label, Big Machine Records.
Swift made her debut on the music scene in 2005 with the release of her self-titled EP, which spawned the Top 5 hit “Love Story.” Two years later, she released her second EP, “Fearless,” the title track became a No. 1 hit. The album was certified double platinum in the U.S. and earned the singer her first Grammy Award for Best Country Solo Performance.
During her early career, Swift toured with the Jonas Brothers and recorded duets with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. She also appeared in several films, including the comedy “The Last Song” and the teen drama “Twilight.”
After Kelce’s initial appearance with Swift fueled romance rumors, the pair have been seen together at four of his NFL games since Sept. 24. At each one, Swift wore an 87-themed bracelet in honor of her new boyfriend and spent time with his mom and Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany.
In addition to cheering on her man from the stands, Swift has been spotted at games with several celebrities in tow, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, Sophie Turner, and Antoni Porowski. But TMZ reports that she will not attend the Chiefs’ game at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium in Denver on Sunday.
It’s still being determined whether Swift will appear in a future game, but it’s likely to be sometime soon. According to TMZ, her sights are set on the next leg of her world tour, which kicks off in November. Hopefully, the Chiefs can get it together without Swift’s good luck charm. The reigning Super Bowl champions are currently 6-1.
