When managing apps across multiple devices, Google makes it easy for users. Using a smartphone from Xiaomi, OnePlus, Motorola, or Samsung, you can easily install and remove apps on all your connected Android devices through the Google Play Store app. However, this is only possible with some apps, and some require more complex steps to be removed from a device. Google is working to change this by adding a new feature allowing you to uninstall applications remotely on your other connected Android devices.
The company is slowly rolling out the new functionality in the latest Play Store version, 38.8, reports 9to5Google. The feature has been added to the ‘Manage apps and devices’ option in the Play Store app, and once activated, you will see a list of apps installed on all other devices logged in to your Google account. Once you tap on any of the apps in this list, a prompt will be displayed asking for confirmation that you wish to uninstall it from the other device.

Once you confirm your decision, the app will be removed from the other device, and a notification will be displayed to let you know that the app has been successfully uninstalled. This will also be reflected in the app’s listing in the Play Store and the ‘installed on other devices’ section. The new feature works with all Android devices logged in to your Google account, including PCs, auto, phones, TVs, and wearables running on Wear OS.
This is not the first time Google has tried to address this issue of managing apps on connected Android devices. In the past, the company had introduced a different process that was more complicated and required you to manually visit the Settings app on your other devices to delete the apps from them. The new solution, however, is much easier to use and can be performed with a single tap on the Play Store app.
Using this new feature is simple enough; you can find it by visiting the ‘Manage apps and devices’ section in the Play Store app. Once you select the ‘This device’ option, you can view a list of all devices currently logged in to your Google account. From there, you can choose which device to manage and uninstall apps.
This new functionality will allow you to remove apps not only from other Android smartphones but also from smartwatches running on Wear OS and smart TVs running on Android TV and Android Auto devices. While the feature is still being tested and may not work perfectly, it is a good step forward in making the process of uninstalling apps from connected devices on your Google account simpler.
