Adele will bring her hit songs to a new audience this summer with four concerts in a specially built stadium in Munich. The Hello singer announced the dates on Wednesday morning and peaked fan interest by saying it would be the first time she had performed in mainland Europe since her last tour in 2016.
The 35-year-old singer confirmed that she would play at the bespoke 80,000-capacity Open Air Arena, Messe Munchen, on August 2, 3, 9, and 10. It is an “open-air environment that has been exclusively created for these special shows,” according to a statement released by her team. The ‘Guten Tag Babes’ singer added that she couldn’t think of a better way to spend her European summer.
Fans reacted quickly to the news, with one writing, “Guten Tag, babes!” Another gushed, “Omg, Germany, y’all are about to see me AGAIN.” The shows will be Adele’s only European performances of 2024 and come months after she completes her Weekends With Adele residency in Las Vegas. The residency began in November and will conclude in mid-June this year.
The star has been one of the most successful artists in the world over the past decade, with five No. 1 singles in the U.K. and three albums that spent extended periods at the top of the Billboard 200. She has also won 16 Grammy Awards and was named IFPI’s Global Recording Artist of the Year in 2015.
It had previously been rumored that the London-born pop superstar was in advanced talks to bring her show back to the capital, but she has yet to confirm any further dates. She is expected to make a further announcement soon.
